Stakeholder Map

Stakeholders are people and organizations who have something to gain or lose in the success of your experience, like funders, performers, directors, administrators, and producers. A stakeholder map is a visual model that shows you the dynamic relationships of stakeholders in your organization or event.

When to use!

At any point you want to gain more perspective on the roles and relationships of stakeholders

Step-by-step guide

  1. Draw a bullseye with three contained areas or use the stakeholder map template.
In the center, write and sketch those who are part of the core team (i.e. performers, directors, production staff, front of house).
  2. In the next ring out, write and sketch those who are directly involved in your organization’s events (i.e. fundraising, marketers, partners, administration)
  3. In the outermost area, write and sketch those who are indirectly involved and/or could influence your event’s outcome (i.e. city governments, arts councils, transportation services, other organizations with similar events, other organizations with events scheduled on the same date).
  4. Draw lines to illustrate relationships among the parties, making notes of anything that’s helpful to know about their interactions.
